Community Forest Rights and PESA Act Implementation, Environmental and Biodiversity Conservation
- Discussions and meetings held with tribal community groups in 5 villages and 12 hamlets in Baglan taluka to raise awareness about Community Forest Rights and PESA Act implementation
- Awareness campaigns conducted and planning meetings organized in 12 Gram Sabhas
- Assistance provided in collecting documents for 10 Community Forest Rights claims, including maps, site maps, and village boundaries
- Legal and documentation assistance provided to 8 villagers for individual forest rights claims
- 20+ training sessions conducted for Forest Rights Committees (FRCs) on Community Forest Rights and the PESA Act
- Actively involved in promoting a participatory approach to forest management, empowering tribal communities
Outcome
- 600 villagers actively participated
- 5 villages submitted their CFR claims to SDLC
- Awareness about sustainable forest management increased
